The Elbow Room Cafe

To tip or not to tip, that is the question for The Elbow Room Cafe after the server told me that I have a “fat ass” in Cantonese. I had to come here to see how rude the servers were because apparently they’re famous for their rude service. I went with my friend Jennifer and we were feeling pretty anxious before we even we walked in. We tried to stay away from the server so we quickly found ourselves a seat and took the menu. After taking a look at the menu, we knew that we were in for something interesting.

Hilarious read and not your usual service.

A horrible mistake to order the Big Ass Pancake or the 6 inch Buttermilk Pancake (CAD10.75) for two girls. I swear this was not 6 inches and with butter and syrup on it, the journey to finishing this pancake left me in a food coma. However this is really just your average pancake but up sized. Jen and I ended up donating money to charity because we couldn’t finish it.

We underestimated the pancake so we ordered the Salmon Bennies. They gave us a generous portion of smoked salmon and I loved the green onions sprinkled on top giving the bennies a fresher taste.
